Our group is busy with plenty of studies on the go. We finished a trial of the timing COVID vaccines which is being published in JCI – see our publication page. It showed no benefit from waiting for your next booster, so go ahead and get one! We’ve also just finished a study looking at whether, if you get the COVID and Flu vaccines on the same day, it is better to get them in the same or opposite arms – we’re busy analysing all the samples. We’re very grateful to Helen, Julie, Thakshila and Jen Audsley for all the support for conducting our clinical trials and to all the dedicated people who kindly volunteer for our studies. Wen Shi, Adam, Robyn, Andrew and the team are busy making monoclonal antibodies to a range of pathogens, including mpox. Mai is looking at delivering monoclonal antibodies via mRNA.
We farewell Julie who is starting a Masters - see farewell morning tea photo below. We are very excited to welcome back Kathleen Wragg who was a brilliant scientist with Jen Juno previously and has recently spent a couple of years in the USA. We have 2 new 3rd year students, Amanda and Macy, with us for a few months on projects in the lab.
