Our lab is growing a little again – we have new students Emily and Carl who have started their Honours with Jen. Sushma is starting her PhD with Marios' group. Lara K joins us from Belgium as a visiting PhD student and will be working with us for six months. We farewell Lydia for now. We had a nice lab lunch on the lawn to welcome our new students recently and Lara and others are organising another of our international lunches soon.
Amazing news on the NHMRC Investigator grant front in our group but the results are still under embargo! We congratulate our staff but also to the many reviewers, helpers, data-gatherers and general assistants and supporters in our lab environment that positions our group for success. We now have 7 (seven) NHMRC Investigator grant holders in our lab – this is perhaps more than some departments or even small Universities.
Marios and Stephen have some ARC discovery projects going in at present that got past the EOI round – fingers crossed for those also. Chris is putting in an NHMRC Ideas grant. A few of the lab attended a Keystone vaccine conference in Ireland - some pictures of the beautiful conference venue, Killarney.
Some nice papers coming out – including one on the cover of Science Translational Medicine in collaboration with the Kedzierska group that Adam and Hyon-Xhi were also joint last and first authors on. See publications page here and the website article here.
Nicky did a great job with her PhD oration recently – see the flyer and photo of our celebration dinner at a Korean restaurant in town. She and Yee-Chen are getting closer to submitting their theses.
