A busy year coming to a close! Our group recently had a Xmas function at a pub then playing mini golf - see photos. We played our gift swapping game which is always fun. It was first introduced by our Danish RA Anne years ago.

Congratulations to Jen who was recently promoted to Associate Professor – well deserved. Mitch and Rachel recently won presentation awards – well done!

Our COVID Monoclonal Ab trial has nearly finished – thanks Janavi for keeping us on track. We have started a study on yellow fever and Japanese encephalitis vaccines that will keep Helen, Rachel and the team busy. Jen Audsley has been a big help getting these studies underway and running smoothly. Marios and Stephen have been involved in ARC grant applications recently. Our former PhD student and now lab head at the Doherty Institute, Amy Chung, who we still work with a lot, was recently promoted to Professor – congratulations!

Thu and Nicky are writing up their PhD theses for submission in the coming months. Kirsty our former PhD student recently got a job at CSIRO.

A bit of a baby boom in our group! Wen Shi and Hyon-Xhi have been taking some parental leave with their new babies. Lydia just had her second child and is also taking some well deserved leave. Chris’s wife Hannah is due to have their second child in the coming weeks also.

The Uni shuts down between Xmas and new year so everyone will take a break then. We wish everyone all the best for 2026!
